Naomi Lapaglia Newmarket 15th July 2023

“Rebel Racing return with a bang”

Following a rather lean spell in the winner’s enclosure, last week saw us return with a bang. This came at HQ with a fantastic performance from Naomi Lapaglia under a tremendous ride from the ever youthful Greg Cheyne. With the whole of the team having put such tremendous hard work into this filly, it was a delight to be able to see a glimmer of the ability we have been seeing at home for some time. Hopefully she can now progress onto bigger and better things with maybe the Ebor meeting at York being her next stop.

We also witnessed a debut on the flat for our National Hunt star Wonderwall – a tremendous effort to finish second at Pontefract, only beaten a neck. An exciting summer beckons for him with the likelihood of being stepped up in trip.

An eye catching run from Waiting All Night finishing second beaten a head at Newmarket gave us something to shout about. Probably on unsuitable ground he travelled strongly under Rob Hornby – surely he can get his head in front again before not too long.

As always a couple ran below expectations – but that’s racing!

Onto next week, we start with a couple of chances on Monday at Wolverhampton both under Andrea Atzeni ending up the week back at HQ with a couple of entries on Friday and Saturday.

Fingers crossed for another winner.
