“Gold’s just around the corner!”

Another positive week for the team at Sefton Lodge with our first runner of the week, Fool’s Gold, hitting the back of the net at Windsor on Monday. From a bad draw he had to make a lot of his own running to hold on for a victory that was possibly more impressive than the official winning distance suggests. I was so pleased for a horse we have held in such high regard to get his head in front at the second time of asking and he may now take his chance dropped back to 5 furlongs in The Flying Childers on Friday at Doncaster.

On Wednesday we moved on to Lingfield with Bodygroove placing third before Belo Horizonte completed the four timer! A remarkable achievement and who knows he may still have some more life in him – possibly the week after next.

On Thursday it was the turn of The Racing League – with mixed results for us. A fair third place for Suicide Blonde, who possibly didn’t see out the 6 furlongs and a desperately unlucky Pjanoo finishing fourth, beaten only half a length picking up some nice points for Team Ireland being the highlights.

With two winners from our 10 runners and three more finishing in the money our good run of form continues.

Racing starts for us on Wednesday at Kempton where Shallow looks to make her debut in the fillies maiden.

On Thursday we head to Doncaster for the start of The Leger meeting, Run Boy Run will take his chance in the £300k Weatherby’s sales race before Fool’s Gold in the Flying Childers on Friday.

Also on Thursday Talamanca holds an entry at Chelmsford in the apprentice race.

Wonderwall makes his handicap debut at Chester on Friday, hopefully the step up in trip will suit. Two Tribes could go for the Nursery back there on the Saturday.

Let’s hope the winner a week run continues.
