“Dying in the Dust”

Yet again Ivory Madonna found just one too good when coming from last place off the final turn at Kempton last Wednesday. An easy to back 25/1 shot, she rewarded each way punters with another eye catching run going down by only a neck. She was struck into after crossing the line and whilst only superficial it will temporarily halt our plans of securing that desired victory.

Earlier on the same card Con Te Partiro completed his third start and whilst coltish once again he managed to finish mid division. A handicapping career now beckons.

Saturday saw Sweet Harmony line up in the Listed Golden Rose Stakes at Lingfield, once again running with some credit early on. She’s been thrown into some stiff ‘asks’ for most of the season, narrowly missing out on the coveted Black Type on more than one occasion. She’ll now be given a break and brought back with a change in tactics planned.

Wonderwall made his jumping debut for the season in Novice company on Sunday at Cheltenham, a clear round was a huge positive for this previous errant jumper who we will look to run again soon on some better ground.

This week we’re back over jumps on Thursday at Market Rasen with Roll With It and Peejaybee. Then onto Fontainbleau on Saturday with Naomi Lapaglia for the Listed Prix Ceres.

Elsewhere we continue with the yard refurbishment programme (which is looking fantastic) in anticipation for the arrival of the Class of ’24 which are progressing nicely up at Vicarage Farm … more names released this week!
