Another fantastic performance by Two Tribes at Meydan on Friday in the Listed Dubai Sprint to finish second and pick up some Black Type on his first step up to Pattern Company. Having looked to have the more fancied opposition covered from midway we were unable to catch the unlikely winner (66/1 shot Great Wish) who had already flown over on the far side. What an amazing horse this lad is, who continues to improve and could head next to the Group 3 Nad Al Sheba Sprint on Super Saturday.
Run Boy Run put in a Meydan best and great early speed to lead for a long way ,beaten only 5 lengths. We may look to bring him back to 5 furlongs.
Back in the UK we closed out January with a winning strike rate of 22%, a win and place strike rate of 66% with only 1 of our 9 runners finishing out of the first 4 placings. Impressive stats albeit from a small data set.
This week we get underway at Wolverhampton on Tuesday with Mwaki in the 5 furlong handicap, already a course and distant winner whilst carrying 2 pounds less.
Teardrops heads back to Newcastle on Wednesday – already a three times course and distance winner.
Romeo Montague could head to Southwell on Thursday for his first start for some time.
Shallow heads to Newcastle on Friday and will have to take on the boys in a valuable handicap.
Before Enter Sandman wraps the week up at Lingfield on Saturday in search of his first victory.
On Friday we head back over to Meydan and are possibly three handed in the 75-95 6 furlong handicap with Rappers Delight, Twilight Calls and RightHere RightNow. Hawksbill aims to have his second start for us and is in the 90-110 Lord Glitters Handicap over 9 furlongs.
