‘The CandyMan Can’

Following a last minute change of jockey at Southwell last Thursday George ‘The Candyman’ Wood booted home Run Boy Run to take the feature race on the card in impressive style.

In doing so we closed out October with another 20% strike rate – taking Richard Spencer and the team from Sefton Lodge to a career best equalling of 32 winners for the year . . . . with 8 weeks remaining to set a new record!

We start today with 3 darts up at Southwell – Juicy returning to the scene of her last course and distance victory this time under Jonny Peate.

Next up is debutant Lovesick (George Wood) – a first home bred for Aidan out of his multiple race winning mare California Love.

Our final chance this evening is Shallow under Darragh Keenan.

Wednesday we move on to Kempton with Giant, George Wood in the saddle.

A couple more chances on Thursday with Midnight City at Southwell and Pjanoo at Chelmsford, ahead of our final turf runner of the year as Naomi Lapaglia heads to Doncaster in a bid to give us a third stakes winner in the Listed Gillies Stakes.

Elsewhere last week we saw the departure from The Lodge of Revich, Aidan Andabettin, Suicide Blonde, Fools Gold and Cross The Tracks at the HIT sales at Tattersalls – we wish the best of luck to the new connections. Inbound we acquired the useful sprinter Twilight Calls who we look forward to running next season.
