Teardrops had to dig deep at Newcastle last Friday night to back up the previous weeks victory over same course and distance under a penalty. What looked a forlorn hope at the furlong pole, he made up a couple of lengths to get up under a strong drive from George Wood to win by a head. He’s unlikely to take up this week’s engagements and could head back up to Newcastle in a couple of weeks’ time.
A couple of placed efforts made it a satisfying first week of December, one of those being Somebody at Newcastle who could head back up there next Saturday and looks our only possible UK runner this week.
Our focus this week switches to Meydan where we could have our first runners on Friday evening at their first turf fixture.
First up could be RightHere RightNow who will be entered in the 1200m 75-95 handicap, the first turf race of the carnival.
This will be shortly followed by Start Me Up in the 2 year old 1400m maiden.
Finally, new recruit Sisyphean could make his Rebel Debut in the 1800m 75-95 handicap which completes the card.
