“Slipping Into Bad Dreams”

What a week!

Starting off with being crowned joint leading owner (with Godolphin) by Windsor Racecourse for the 2026 Flat season to coming back from Ayr with another two festival winners from the Western Meeting … and an impressive 2 year old debutant winner in between for good measure.

Monday saw the final meeting for the year at Windsor Racecourse and from relatively few runners this year we managed to land the spoils on four occasions, which coincidentally was the same number of times as Godolphin! What an achievement for all at Team Rebel and huge thanks to Windsor Racecourse for some fabulous entertainment on a Monday evening.

On Tuesday we headed to the Eastern Festival at Yarmouth racecourse with an exciting two year old debutant Bad Dreams. One I’ve been looking forward to and he made no mistake in running out a comfortable winner – he could be anything.

Thursday saw our annual three day pilgrimage to Ayr racecourse for The Western Festival – we certainly hit the ground running with two victories on day One with Wild Thoughts in the feature Kilkerran Handicap and another magnificent trophy, and Ice Cube landing the daily double.

Unfortunately, this year’s Gold Cup didn’t return home with us but we will be back again next year.

Finally we rounded off the week with second place in the Henry Cecil Open Weekend Racing Personality Showjumping competition – huge thanks to Oisin Murphy, Saffie Osborne and Georgia King for representing us, the visitors who came to and to see us and all of the team who gave up their Sunday to show everyone around.

Last but no means least another record broken by Richard last week as he took his number of winners in a season to a record breaking 35, having already broken through his previous record prize money earlier this month …… and all before the end of Q3!

This week starts at Goodwood on Wednesday with Zigazig Ah in the £100k Two Year Old Fillies Series Final. Already a huge money spinner for the team this season it would be great to see her add to her haul.

Then we head to HQ for some fantastic racing from Thursday through Saturday, commencing with Great Balls O’Fire in the Group 3 Somerville Tattersall Stakes. The winner of his only start to date it will certainly be a test but great to be running in these races.

On Friday impressive Doncaster winner Speed of Sound has been supplemented to take her chance in the Group 2 Rockfel Stakes. It looks to be another competitive contest but once again one we are excited to be competing in.

Finally on Saturday Wild Thoughts looks as though he may scrape in the bottom of the Cambridgeshire. Romeo Montague could head to Southwell.

Finally, we had hoped to give Shallow a retirement run at HQ on Thursday , following a minor setback she’ll not make her final outing in the sun and will be retired to the stud. A winner of 5 races from 30 appearances and in the three on more than 50% of the time her ultra consistency and will to win was genetic from her father. A yard and family favourite we look forward to seeing her progeny in a few years’ time.
