“Royal Ascot – What a leveller”

A great time at the Royal Ascot meeting up with many old and new friends was had last week – but how hard is it to win there?

Fortunate to have won a race previously in 2017 with Rajasinghe (and still the track record holder) we went with what I felt was our strongest team to date. Some stories of misfortune and some just not quite good enough we came away with a blank, however we dust ourselves down and crack on with the rest of the season.

A big shout out of thanks to the whole team at Sefton Lodge for getting me five runners at what still remains the premier race meeting of the season.

Entries this week start with Waiting All Night at Newmarket on Thursday, Little Lies may then debut at Yarmouth on Friday. There is then the possibility of a team heading to Newcastle at the weekend including Lucky Man, Cross The Tracks and Giant.

Elsewhere the team at George Boughey’s are in flying form. Impressive debut winner Good Good Good looks to follow up at Leicester on Thursday whilst Composite also holds a couple of entries.

Roll With It and Wonderwall both hold entries at Cartmel over the weekend with Peter and Micky Bowen.
