Whilst no success on the track we had a fantastic few days at Royal Ascot.
Despite some mixed performances, unlucky draws and unfortunate ballot marks we learned a lot and most importantly we had a lot of fun!
Away from the main event, Rockafeller Skank notched another couple of victories at Wolverhampton and Lingfield taking his record to 4 wins in 9 days! A truly remarkable performance and some fantastic race planning by Richard Spencer.
With most of the squad now in full training we will see a significant increase in number of entries (and hopefully visits to the winner’s enclosure) over the coming weeks – although 17 victories from just 83 runs and a 20% strike rate hasn’t been a bad warm up.
This week’s entries are once again back-ended, on Thursday we head to Newmarket with another 2 year old debutant Etienne in the 6 furlong Novice Stakes. He could also be joined by Ice Cube in the 6 furlong handicap, Hawksbill in the 7 furlong handicap and Motown Filly in the Listed Empress Stakes.
Friday we are back at Newmarket warming up for the Basement Jaxx with another 2 year old first timer, Sexy Chick in the 6 furlong fillies’ Novice and Shallow in the 6 furlong fillies’ handicap. Whilst Zigazig Ah could head to Yarmouth.
Finally, Dream Lover and Start Me Up head to Chester and Rappers Delight to Newcastle to round off this week on Saturday.
