A great start from the team over in Dubai last Friday evening saw us nearly get off the mark at our first fixture when RightHere RightNow went agonisingly close in the 6 furlong handicap. Settled from the gates, he made eye catching headway under a near perfect ride by Saffie Osborne to go down less than a 1/4 length in a photo finish.
Earlier on the card Start Me Up travelled pleasingly despite being held four wide the entire circuit, any chance was lost completely when a freak incident saw George Wood lose an iron! How he managed to stay intact is nothing short of a miracle (and a show of tremendous athleticism) and escape what would have more than likely been serious injury.
Finally Sisyphean also made a pleasing Rebel Debut, he’ll definitely come on for the run and with his last furlong being his worst we could seem him dropped back in trip.
This Friday the action hots up a bit and we go again, firstly with The Man in the 5 furlong Listed race.
He could possibly be joined by Run Boy Run in the 7 furlong Listed race.
We enjoyed a fantastic few days and are grateful to Dubai Racing for some fantastic hospitality and magnificent facilities. Our team have settled in well and the horses are looking in fantastic shape ….. Here’s to an exciting winter.
Back home Teardrops bids for the hat-trick of course and distance wins at Newcastle on Tuesday with George Wood once again in the saddle.
Loose running plans for next weekend could see him head back to the same venue on Friday, or Saturday where he could be joined by Somebody, Space Cowboy and Atmosphere – should he not head to Southwell on Friday.
