“One Runner – One Winner”

Shallow recorded back to back victories with the fourth win of her career from only seven starts last Wednesday (58%!) at Kempton. Defying top weight and taking on the boys this tough filly made all and showed all of the grit and determination that is becoming synonymous with all of her stallion Rajasinghe’s progeny. Another perfect ride from jockey George Wood and forming part of a memorable 9 winners in one week for the jockey. A similar event could be next on the agenda for this filly who has shown an aptitude for the track, although AW finals day could also be on the cards.

This week we attempt the same feat with just Giant declared at Kempton on Wednesday. A previous course and distance winner and last victorious at the same track almost twelve months ago, he would have to shoulder a further six pounds than his last victory.

Elsewhere we had a fantastic morning on the gallops at Newmarket on Saturday and was delighted to see some of our older horses put through their paces. With the start of the turf only five weeks away and the guineas trials only seven, this will surely come around fast enough.

At the stud Rebel Surge foaled a cracking colt by Harry Angel – coincidentally a half brother to Giant.
