We’re now less than 24 hours before the start of the greatest show on turf.
After months of planning and weeks of preparation our final running plans remain relatively unchanged since our last update.
Twilight Calls kicks off proceedings tomorrow when lining up for the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes (prev. King’s Stand) over 5 furlongs. Having previously finished second, fourth and sixth in this contest in each of the 3 previous runnings prior to joining our roster, we hope he can roll back the years and outrun his odds of 66/1 and once again make the frame. Jamie Spencer takes the ride.
On Wednesday, Shallow heads for the Kensington Palace Stakes. Successful on four of her ten starts to date on the All-Weather, she has her first start on turf at near bottom weight under Hollie Doyle.
Thursday we still sit and await our fate – Sex On Fire needs 15 to come out to get a run in the Britannia Stakes, likewise Two Tribes needs 19 to come out for a run in the Buckingham Palace Stakes. Whilst Run Boy Run does get in the Buckingham Palace , his preferred option remains Saturday’s Wokingham; although he would require circa 10 horses rated above him not to run.
Probably our best chance of the week remains Gold Digger in The Albany on Friday: as on her sole victorious start, Jamie Spencer rides. Two Year Old Trophy winner Candy (George Wood) bookends the card for us in The Palace of Holyrood House with The Man an unfortunate absentee following a slight setback.
Saturday sees Yah Mo Be There line up for the Group 3 Jersey Stakes under Jamie Spencer. Back in trip following his last run in the 2000 Guineas we are really excited to see him run. Twilight Calls could make a second appearance of the week in The Wokingham, along with Run Boy run should the required amount of horses above him not declare, however the chance of Two Tribes making an appearance look very slim.
Elsewhere Your Love heads to Southwell on Tuesday under Adam Farragher, Giant and Waiting All Night / Sex On Fire hold entries at Lingfield (Thursday) and Newmarket (Friday) respectively.
