“It Takes Two ….”

An across the card quickfire double within the space of 5 minutes was the highlight of last week!

First up was Con Te Partiro at Lingfield landing his fifth win of the year under another stellar ride from ‘The Iron Man’ Neil Callan – both horse and jockey rarely fail to deliver. Before he’d even made his way to the winner’s enclosure, Candy was breaking his maiden at Newbury under a genius ride from George Wood with both horse and jockey recording their first victory for us. A special day for Richard Spencer and all the team at Sefton Lodge.

Elsewhere the team were also busy at The Tattersalls Somerville sale at the beginning of the week where we were successful in purchasing another 5 yearling colts – once again all in conjunction with Anthony Bromley. What a cracking bunch they are; I was able to view them in person at Megan and Adam Kirby’s Vicarage Farm last Friday morning. This was after having watched our big hope for this week, RightHere RightNow, go through his final piece of work on the watered gallop under intended partner Rab Havlin ahead of Saturdays Champagne Stakes at Doncaster. As recorded in the weekend’s Racing Post, it went very well!

We start racing this week on Tuesday with Juicy heading to Newcastle – a bit unlucky in running on a couple of her starts, this lightly raced daughter of Rajasinghe is dropped in grade and upped a furlong following her bold showing in the Racing League.

On Thursday we head to Doncaster with Midnight City (Rab Havlin) taking his chance and hoping to pick up a few quid in the valuable Weatherbys 2 year old stakes, and 30 minutes earlier Hot Like Me makes her handicap debut off of bottom weight under Hayley Turner.

….. and then onto Saturday as mentioned above RightHere RightNow heads to Doncaster for the Group 2 Champagne Stakes under Rab Havlin. An impressive winner of his sole start in a Newmarket Maiden, let’s hope he builds upon this and give us a great day out.

Pjanoo also has an entry at Doncaster on Saturday, as does Run Boy Run on Sunday following his impressive 3rd at Ascot last Saturday.
