A positive week on the track with two winners and a second from just six runners!
First up was Atmosphere on Tuesday at Thirsk under another magnificent ride from Jack Callan, the young jockey maintaining his 100% strike rate for us. The maturity, judgement of pace and feedback shown was far in excess of his years and top of all of that what a lovely lad.
Shallow went 5 from 13 when striking for the first time on turf at Newmarket on Friday evening. Her highest rated and best performance to date, she was given another fantastic ride by George Wood. Led, headed and battled back with the characteristic determination of her father’s progeny, she could now head to Glorious Goodwood.
Waiting All Night ran a cracker to finish second under the Iron Man at Newmarket on Saturday. The only disappointment being not picking up the first prize (and anticipated celebrations) once again generously sponsored by Belinda and Andy Drummond’s Lettergold Plastics. Long term sponsors at The July course even going back to Cockney Rebel’s debut!
This week’s racing commences for us today at Windsor with Born Slippy in the Nursery Handicap – let’s hope he can improve on what he’s shown to date.
On Tuesday, Atmosphere and Jack Callan bid to make their pairing 3 from 3 at Lingfield – let’s keep that strike rate intact.
Sex on Fire holds an entry on Friday at Sandown.
We then finish up the week with a busy Saturday with RightHere RightNow and Candy at Chester, Space Cowboy at York whilst we’re off to Ascot with Two Tribes for King George day.
