As if the winter project in Dubai wasn’t enough to get excited about I’m delighted that we’ve acquired a national hunt horse with Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies.
Shotgun Rider is the winner of his only point-to-point start and was acquired by our old stable jockey Willie at the Goffs UK May Sale. We’re delighted to support him in his first season on the licence and the dream would be complete if he could be Willy’s first festival winner.
A busy Saturday last week with some unfavourable weather not helping our cause as we chased more ITV Glory ! A significant headwind didn’t help frontrunners Candy and Run Boy Run who both put in solid performances despite being upped in grade. It was also another fine effort from Two Tribes who having been drawn on the wing found himself shuffled back to last place when moved across in search of cover. A rattling final furlong whilst suffering a troubled path saw him pass 9 rivals and make up over 10 lengths to only go down by less than 4!
Hopefully some better luck this week which kicks off today with Mwaki at Wolverhampton on what could be his last start before the October Horses-In-Training sale.
On Wednesday we head to Kempton with Atmosphere and the return to the all weather for Space Cowboy.
Waiting All Night could also appear at Kempton on Friday.
With RightHere RightNow holding entries at York (Saturday) and Goodwood (Sunday).
