A good week on the track yielded 3 second placed efforts from just 4 runners. Although no winners, we saw some eye-catching performances, none more so than the David Egan ride on Two Tribes in the International Handicap at Ascot. Carrying twelve pounds more than when winning the race last year and being drawn out in stall one, it could possibly be the best non-winning ride on one of our horses for some time. He now heads straight to Goodwood next Saturday to defend his Stewards’ Cup crown from 12 months ago.

Two Tribes is just one of 25 entries we will have made for the Goodwood festival which kicks off on Tuesday.

First up is the 5 furlong handicap and here we go five handed with Candy, Rapper’s Delight, Run Boy Run, The Man and Twilight Calls. As with all of these sprint handicaps the draw and going will play an important part and we all need a bit of luck in running.

Later on the same card Shallow and Gold Digger line up in the 6 furlong fillies’ handicap.

On Wednesday Super Sprint winner Zigazig Ah is entered in the two year old fillies’ 5 furlong conditions race.

Born Slippy and Kimbara are entered in the 6 furlong handicap.

Hawksbill, Kimbara and Start Me Up are entered in the 7 furlong World Pool Handicap.

On Thursday, Motown Filly is entered in the 7 furlong two year old maiden fillies.

Start Me Up and Wild Thoughts in the one mile three year old handicap.

Friday could see Hawksbill in the Golden Mile and Underdog in the two year old nursery.

Finally on Saturday Candy, Rappers Delight, Run Boy Run, The Man, Twilight Calls and reigning champion Two Tribes are entered in the Stewards’ Cup.

Kimbara and Start Me Up in the three year old 7 furlong handicap…

And finally Walking On The Moon in the 7 furlong maiden.

Elsewhere Sexy Chick could run at Leicester on Wednesday or Newmarket on Friday.
