Once again it’s that time of year when the foals start to arrive. We currently have three on the ground including this unique Roan Filly by Territories out of Ivory Madonna, a cracking first foal from my old race mare who finished 3rd in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. Also foaled on the same day, we had a colt by Ulysses out of Shesells Sanctuary and only a few days ago a cracking colt by Rajasinghe x Wonderful Life.
A couple of solid albeit non-winning performances on the track for both Waiting All Night and Midnight City last week leave us chasing our first winner for the month. That could come this week in the form of Shallow, returning to the scene of her last-time-out winning performance at Kempton. Raised a couple of pounds but this time taking on the boys, George Wood retains the ride.
Hot Like Me and Paint The Town Red both hold identical entries on Thursday at Newcastle and Southwell on Friday, where Con Te Partiro could join them.
Still a relatively quiet time on the track but lots going on back at Sefton, where I’ll be heading this weekend to check on the progress of the two year olds and hopefully the start of some exciting exercise for this year’s classic crop.
