A year to the day we can still hear PC saying these words to Richard regarding Lot 160 whilst on his way to the Doncaster Premier Yearling sales. Normally the voice of reason and sensibility during the whole sales season, he was adamant we should secure this daughter of Starman for Sefton Lodge. Who would have predicted the events that would unfold in the past six months which would make last Wednesday’s victory so much sweeter but no less emotional. A fantastic training performance by Richard, a perfect ride by Saffie and two meaningful interviews that are so greatly appreciated by the family.
We’ve been blessed with five above average juvenile fillies this year in Starburster, Speed of Sound, Motown Filly, Sexy Chick and Zigazig Ah …. Our very own Spice Girls. It’s now over to Richard to shuffle the deck and decide which hand to place where.

On Sunday Shallow could head to Kempton.
