Nothing like a Group Race and a few pints of Guinness to enable Aidan and I to get the Boss out to Newbury last Saturday.
Initially deflated in the result with Yah Mo Be There, we’ve since had time to reflect on feedback, rewatch the race many times and I seriously believe that we could get closer to the winner in three weeks time …. as a result of which (and all being well) he WILL be an intended runner in the 2000 Guineas.
This week we head to Newmarket for the Craven meeting where our other Guineas entry, RightHere Rightnow will make his seasonal debut. With some uncertainty over his optimum trip we have elected to swerve the Craven itself and run on Thursday in the Conditions race over 7 furlongs instead. An impressive debutant winner over 7 furlongs at Newmarket’s July Course I’m excited to see this lad back in action especially with Rab Havlin back in the saddle.
Waiting All Night is entered in the preceding race, Hollie Doyle takes the ride.
Friday we head to Newcastle for AW Championship Finals Day with some tremendous prize money on offer. First up is Shallow who deserves to take her chance in the fillies and mares Handicap under Hollie Doyle. An interesting looking contest with 10 of the 15 entries currently outside of the handicap.
Our second entry on the card is Run Boy Run in the Sprint Handicap. An eye catching second and beaten only a neck by the impressive Marshman at the same venue last time out we reoppose on 6 pounds better terms, George Wood retains the ride.
Midnight City also holds an entry at Lingfield on Friday, with Somebody heading to Southwell on Sunday.
