“Born Slippy”

….. will be our first runner of the new season, heading to Wolverhampton on Tuesday evening for the 2 year old maiden. The first of our Class of ‘25 to make the track and having to concede weight all around, he should at least give us a bit of an idea of where we are with our own group.

Giant will also accompany him on the trip and will appear later on the card in the 6 furlong handicap; George Wood takes the ride on both.

On Thursday we will make the one mile drive up the road to our local track in Chelmsford to watch Giant’s full brother, I Follow Rivers, line up in the 7 furlong handicap. A trappy looking contest with a number of first time handicap debutants, we will hopefully get a gauge on what the rest of the season may look like for him.

Friday I’ll be travelling to Leicester to see our second member of the Class of ‘25, Somebody, line up in the 2 year old maiden. The cheapest member of the new squad, lets hope he can he can defy the ‘purchase price as a measure of ability’ argument. Later in the card Con Te Partiro will make a first appearance on turf – quite amazing as this will be his seventeenth time at a racetrack.

We finish the week off at Yarmouth on Saturday with Maneater making her racecourse debut.

Fingers crossed we can find a winner amongst them and get our season off to a flying start.
