A rare blank week on the track didn’t dampen spirits as we held a celebration for Team Rebel for their achievements in already making this a record breaking season. With the theme for this year’s fancy dress being “a Rebel Racing horse name past or present” there were some fantastic efforts and thank you to all for joining in. Huge thanks to the team at The Tack Room and all those involved in the organisation.
On the track we only had the three runners at HQ and whilst we had a couple of disappointments, I feel some satisfaction can be gleaned from Speed of Sounds performance in the Rockfel Stakes. Travelling like the winner she didn’t quite see out the stiff seven and could drop back to six in the Listed Bosra Sham in a couple of weeks’ time.
Performance of the week must go onceagain to the cash machine that is Zigazig Ah who finished second (beaten a head) in the valuable British EBF £100k 2 year old fillies series final at Goodwood. Stepped up to 7 furlongs, she was chinned late on in what was probably a career best performance. She could line up again this Saturday at HQ in the Tattersalls £200,000 October Auction Stakes.
Hawksbill and Two Tribes both hold entries in the Ascot Challenge Cup Heritage Handicap, whilst Baddaddan could travel to Redcar for the 2 year old trophy.
