A fantastic few weeks’ tour of Australia culminated in a last stop in Melbourne where we were able to visit yet another of Ciaron Maher’s excellent training facilities, this time at Ballarat (pictured). Having seen firsthand what goes on behind the scenes, we are even more excited with our Australian venture.
Following on from Ballarat we visited Vin Cox and the team at Yulong Stud, what an impressive operation.
A huge thank you to everyone who made us feel so welcome and we can’t wait to return.
Back home and from only a few runners last week, Run Boy Run ran a tremendous race at Newcastle on Friday to just be touched off by a neck, finishing second with what was probably a career best performance. Running from his highest rating of 90 he looks to have continued to improve and given he has yet to be out of frame from 6 runs on the ‘syntho’ a trip to AW finals day could be the target.
This week starts today at Southwell with Shallow, returning to Kempton where she debuted second to the useful Fair Angelina. Already a two time winner for us (from only 5 runs) this could be her last appearance for us as she is entered in the sales next week.
Sex on Fire heads to Kempton on Wednesday, whilst Con Te Partiro holds entries at Lingfield on Wednesday and Wolverhampton Saturday.
Lucky Man could have his final start for us at Southwell on Friday as he is also sales bound next week to make way for the new recruits.
Giant could also join Con Te Partiro at Wolverhampton on Saturday.
