At the Speed of Sound”
From less than a handful of runners last week Speed of Sound got off the mark at only her third attempt. A well-judged front running ride by Saffie Osborne keeping on well to fend off a couple of late challengers, she could head next to York for the Harry’s Half Million where she is set to carry 8st 11lb.
Interestingly, we won the same race back in 2022 with Sweet Harmony who later went on to run fourth in the Rockfel.
This week starts for us on Tuesday with Baddaddan (George Wood) being one of only three declarations in the 6 furlong novice at Nottingham.
On Friday Sexy Chick (George Wood) takes a drop back in trip and a step up in class for the 5 furlong Listed St. Hugh’s Stakes at Newbury. Whilst Ice Cube (Kieran Shoemark) heads to Epsom, the scene of his last course and distance victory.
On Saturday Wild Thoughts (Saffie Osborne) heads to Newbury , whilst Jack Callan steps in at Lingfield for both Enter Sandman and Kimbara.
Poison Arrow is entered at Southwell on Sunday.
Having just gone past the halfway point of the season it’s amazing to note that this week saw us equal last year’s total tally of 25 winners. Even more remarkable is that this same winners haul has been achieved with 40% less runners and we remain on track to exceed in all of last year’s KPIs.
