What a fantastic week we had at Glorious Goodwood, and for the first time we stayed down at the venue – a great idea. A huge thankyou to all at The White Horse at Chilgrove, Goodwood Racecourse and ITV Racing who made it all the more memorable.
The highlight has to be Twilight Calls – victorious on the opening day under a perfect ride from Saffie Osborne, giving the team a winner at another festival. One of five runners for us in the race, creating the need for a blue cap. Unfortunately, he incurred no further penalty and was balloted out of The Stewards Cup and so will head to Ascot this week for the Shergar Cup.
Two Tribes stumbled leaving the stalls and David Egan did remarkably well to stay intact but that put pay to his chances, we live to fight another day and he also heads to the Shergar Cup on Saturday.
Our only runner outside of ‘The Goodwood Sixteen’ was Sexy Chick who won the 6 furlong Novice at Newmarket on Friday evening in impressive fashion under a super ride from Rab Havlin. She now deserves a chance in a higher grade.
This week we start tonight with the unpredictable Yazoo in the 5 furlong maiden at Windsor.
Then on Wednesday Cuff It is off to Kempton whilst Speed of Sound heads to Yarmouth in search of her first victory.
On Friday Motown Filly heads to Newmarket.
As mentioned above, Saturday sees Two Tribes and Twilight Calls head to Ascot for the Shergar Cup, whilst Enter Sandman travels to Lingfield.
Finally, Sunday could see Wopbopaloomop and Dreamlover head to Chepstow.
